Contrast Denim Shorts

I have a new item added to my etsy store:
A pair of denim cut off shorts with distressed hem. The left side has been bleached to a near white giving a speckled effect. The waist band sits about an inch and a half below the natural waist helping to give the shorts a very relaxed feel the outside side seams are also open an inch and half up from the hem to help give a relaxed worn in feel.

SIZE: Waist band from side to side 38cm

My Work in the 1st and 2nd year fashion show

At the end of every year my university puts on a fashion show to show the work of the second years last project and to show a selection of the first years work. (I am a first year student) and all 3 of my garments got selected for the show.

The first 2 outfits were for my "capturing the market" project, were I was to design for the clothing store Warehouse under the theme Masai

In the first outfit, I made the jacket made out of 100% silk with bleached denim pockets and panel in the back. The jacket has a relaxed feel with dropped shoulders and a rolled collar and brass buttons along the centre front.

the second is a maxi dress with a chiffon blouse and jersey skirt with a twisted waist. and embellished detail along the neck line

The there was a dress for my "A Cut Above" project, in which I had to design and make a dress for a chosen designer, mine being Rick Owens, This dress has a wet look lycra skirt and a waxed top. The fins across the bust line going across to the back represent the ribs with an open back and exposed zip running up the back to the shoulders.

Working Drawings for warehouse project

For a project I am currently doing at university I have been set the task of designing a collection of 10 outfits (we only have to make 2 garnets which can create an outfit) for the british clothing company Warehouse. Andrea the jersey designer for warehouse came in to brief us and gave us 4 trends we could choose from for SS13 to bace our collection on, these being: Masai, Binary, Flounce and NYC Grunge.

Any one who has seen my previous work, or that knows me would of properly expected me to pick the grunge trend. I was tempted, but instead i decided to go with Masai as a means of pushing myself and my work. The dress below is one of the pieces from my collection that I will be making.
The main body of the dress will be made from a fine jersey with a black chiffon bodice which features stud and chain detail along the neck line and a twisted and knotted detail at the waist.
I should be making the toile for this in the next week and will be posting pictures of the toile as well as my other work soon. :)

Vintage denim shirt #4

This is a vintage denim shirt which has been re-made and re constructed for a modern fit and to be in keeping with to days "vintage grunge" fashions.

The shirt as long sleeves which have been rolled up.
The shirt has been dip dyed at the bottom to create a soft lilac colour which blends into the light denim of the shirt about 1/2 way up. The sleeves have also been dip dyed in this way. (I have tried to get a accurate representation of the colour in the photos, but please remember that colours may vary from monitor to monitor)

this shirt has a very soft effect and reflects the "pastel grunge movement" which is becoming popular at the moment. The shirt would work perfectly with a floral head band. as all of the details have been done by hand this shirt is truly a one of a kind and there is no other garment exactly like it. This shirt is one of a kind and is a truly unique vintage revival piece.

This shirt is for sale in my etsy store
